I've never been a big believer in quick New Year's resolutions. I believe more in small, well-thought-out adjustments that point in the right direction. That's why my car is now black. Not because it's "new year, new me", but because over the past year I've learned how much the small details matter, what signals you send and what doors open. Although it may sound a bit old-fashioned, I've learned that a black limousine gives access to more types of assignments, more collaborations and more opportunities. Of course, without changing what is at the core of ZenRide: - Same car - Same driver - Same approach. Just with more possibilities ahead in 2026. 2026 doesn't start with a new chapter - just with a new nuance😄 Let's see where the road leads. When I started ZenRide, I thought I was choosing a more relaxed chapter of my life, something simple, something grounded. What I didn’t expect was how many doors it would open. One of the interesting parts of driving a limousine is the people you suddenly find yourself sharing a car with. People I would never normally cross paths with - and yet, for 20, 40, sometimes 90 minutes, we’re in the same space, having real conversations you can’t plan or script. In the past months alone, I’ve found myself talking about: • Work–life balance with the CEO of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. • The future of AI and technology with the CEO of a global tech giant. • Career paths and opportunities after being invited for coffee by the global head of HR at a large international company. • And most recently, I was booked to drive a couple to their wedding… which turned into an invitation to their 600-person Indian celebration, where I ended up seated at the family table. A moment I’ll never forget These are experiences I could never have engineered or “networked” my way into. They only happened because I was exactly where I was supposed to be, behind the wheel, fully present, simply doing my job. That’s the magic of this work. You offer a ride… and sometimes, life offers you a glimpse into worlds far bigger than your own. So yes, I still drive people from A to B. But somewhere along the road, ZenRide also became a passport to unexpected encounters, cultural surprises, and conversations that stay with me long after the car is parked. And for that, I’m genuinely grateful. One of the most surprising parts of my ZenRide adventure has been what happens inside the car when Copenhagen hosts a conference. I get to meet all kinds of people - seasoned CEOs, ambitious startup founders, and everything in between. And without fail, our conversations drift toward something close to my heart: the balance between work and life, and the different joys and challenges of running a business. What’s even more surprising? I’ve actually connected with more new people on LinkedIn (and sometimes Facebook) through my passengers than I did in my last years running companies in the gaming industry. And sometimes, those connections even lead to introductions to others in their networks - all sparked by a simple ride from A to B. It makes me realise: opportunities to learn, share, and connect don’t always happen at boardroom tables or industry events. Sometimes, they happen in the backseat of a car, between the airport and the hotel. And honestly? That’s one of the most rewarding parts of this new chapter. After 30+ years in the computer and gaming industry, I’ve been fortunate to build a big network of colleagues, friends, and partners. Many of you know that my focus (and passion!) today is ZenRide - offering private, comfortable rides in and around Copenhagen. Sometimes, when I talk to people from my old network (or even family and friends), they’ll say things like: 👉“We didn’t want to bother you.” 👉“It feels strange booking you, knowing your background.” Which always makes me smile, because the truth is: you’re not bothering me at all. In fact, it’s the opposite! Driving is something I truly enjoy - it’s my new passion - and nothing makes me happier than being trusted with your ride. ZenRide is doing well, and I love what I do. But honestly? I miss driving more of my friends, family, and former colleagues. Those trips aren’t “just work” - they’re some of the most rewarding ones. So, if you need a ride to the airport, an event, or just across town, I’d love to be the one driving you. You’re not pulling me away from anything else - you’re making my day better And yes, I promise fair prices only beaten by public transportation, your bike, or your own two feet See you in the passenger seat? /Søren PS. Since ZenRide is a one-man, one-car service, I can’t always guarantee availability at short notice. But the earlier you book, the better chance I’ll be the one opening the car door for you One of the unexpected joys of driving for ZenRide is meeting people from all corners of the world, every single week. It never ceases to fascinate me how we’re all so different - yet so alike. The small talk. The silence. The curiosity. The humour. The level of detail in their planning. The way they treat a chauffeur. It all shifts slightly depending on where people come from. - Americans: Friendly, chatty, and generous with tips. - Germans: Punctual, polite, and incredibly well-prepared. - French: Curious and appreciative of design, food, and the finer details. - Swedes: Cool, calm, and often very down-to-earth. - Italians: Passionate, warm, and never shy to share stories (and restaurant tips!). - Chinese: Curious, tech-savvy, and often love the quietness of an electric ride. - Danes: Comfortable, casual — and often surprisingly quiet, unless I start the conversation Of course, this isn’t scientific and parameters as age, mood, and travel fatigue all play a big role, but I can’t help smiling at how these little patterns emerge over time. I might be driving from A to B, but the conversations take me all over the world. Last week, I had the pleasure of spending the entire day with the most wonderful American couple in their 70s, true explorers at heart. They had booked ZenRide for a full-day tour, and together we discovered local art galleries, visited charming bakeries, browsed department stores, and stopped by a few hidden gems in Copenhagen they wouldn’t have found otherwise. It wasn’t just a ride, it was a shared experience. Conversations flowed, laughter filled the car, and by the end of the day, it felt more like driving with old friends than new clients. Full-day bookings like these are some of my favourites, it’s not just about getting from A to B, but about the stories, the connections, and the shared moments along the way. Want your own ZenRide day out? Just reach out. I’d love to be your driver🚘✨ One of the unexpected, and rewarding, perks of being a personal driver is the conversations I get to be a part of? Some are quiet. Some are wild. Some are laugh-out-loud funny. And some… stay with you. Whether it’s two friends chatting in the back or a one-on-one talk during a quiet evening drive, I get a front-row seat to the full range of human stories — unfiltered, unexpected, and often unforgettable. So far, I’ve: 📈 Been present for a serious legal strategy session between two lawyers discussing a company merger worth hundreds of millions — before it hit the news. 🛬 Given a lift to a 3-man crew flying a billionaire's private jet, on their way to take-off at Roskilde Airport. 🎖️ Swapped reflections with a seasoned soldier who served in Iraq, and still meets his closest wartime friends for a beer. 💔 Comforted someone working through a tough breakup — complete with a playlist debate over sad songs vs. power anthems. 🚲 Laughed with tourists ranking Copenhagen’s bike lanes like they were reviewing fine wine. 🎧 Heard a whispered recap of who actually made out with who at the bar last night (names were named). 💄 And of course, two friends loudly agreeing that yes, the guy with the beard at Café Victor was definitely the one. Some moments are small. Some are deeply human. All of them make driving more than just a way from A to B. So no, I’m not eavesdropping. I’m just driving, talking, listening and always keeping what’s said, safe (discretion comes standard). What’s shared in the car — stays in the car😉 |
WelcomeLife behind the wheel is more than just traveling from point A to point B; it’s about the people you meet, the moments you experience, and the stories that unfold along the way.
