It’s easy to think that great transportation is about getting from A to B as fast as possible. But after months behind the wheel, I’ve come to realise that the best rides are rarely about speed. They’re about timing. About reading the moment. About understanding the person in the back seat. Sometimes, a perfect ride is a quiet one. No conversation. Just space to think before an important meeting. Other times, it’s the opposite. A conversation that shifts perspective, eases tension, or simply makes the journey feel shorter. It’s about a smooth arrival, not just physically, but mentally. Being ready. Grounded. Present. Anyone can drive fast. But not everyone knows when to slow down. Maybe that’s also what this time of year is about. A small pause. A moment to reset. A chance to slow things down, just a little. ZenRide was never built around speed. It was built around calm, comfort, and intention. Wishing you a peaceful Good Friday and a wonderful Easter ahead🐣 PS. And if you ever need a ride where the journey matters as much as the destination, you know where to find me😉 There’s something powerful about finishing a working day… and actually feeling finished. Earlier in my career, work felt like an open-world game with no real pause button. There was always another level loading. Another challenge ahead. Another responsibility to think about - even on weekends and holidays. The campaign never really saved. These days, my work feels different. Every morning starts like a new daily mission. I don’t know exactly where the day will take me, who I’ll meet, what conversations I’ll have, what small stories will unfold along the way. My passengers become storylines. I focus. I drive. I complete the mission. And when the day ends… it actually ends. No unfinished side quests running in the background. No mental notifications pulling at my attention. Just a quiet reset. For many years, I measured progress in growth curves, strategy decks and long-term plans. Now I measure it in presence, good conversations, safe arrivals and calm execution. Different game mode. Same commitment to doing things properly. There’s something surprisingly powerful about work that has a clear finish line each day. It creates space. Energy. Gratitude. ZenRide has always been about calm, comfort and intention. In many ways, so is this chapter of my life. Level completed. Ready for tomorrow. If you ever need a calm and intentional ride, you know where to find me😉 I've never been a big believer in quick New Year's resolutions. I believe more in small, well-thought-out adjustments that point in the right direction. That's why my car is now black. Not because it's "new year, new me", but because over the past year I've learned how much the small details matter, what signals you send and what doors open. Although it may sound a bit old-fashioned, I've learned that a black limousine gives access to more types of assignments, more collaborations and more opportunities. Of course, without changing what is at the core of ZenRide: - Same car - Same driver - Same approach. Just with more possibilities ahead in 2026. 2026 doesn't start with a new chapter - just with a new nuance😄 Let's see where the road leads. December is a time for slowing down, reflecting, and appreciating the road already travelled. Thank you to everyone who trusted ZenRide this year🙏 Wishing you peaceful holidays and a gentle start to the year ahead. When I started ZenRide, I thought I was choosing a more relaxed chapter of my life, something simple, something grounded. What I didn’t expect was how many doors it would open. One of the interesting parts of driving a limousine is the people you suddenly find yourself sharing a car with. People I would never normally cross paths with - and yet, for 20, 40, sometimes 90 minutes, we’re in the same space, having real conversations you can’t plan or script. In the past months alone, I’ve found myself talking about: • Work–life balance with the CEO of one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. • The future of AI and technology with the CEO of a global tech giant. • Career paths and opportunities after being invited for coffee by the global head of HR at a large international company. • And most recently, I was booked to drive a couple to their wedding… which turned into an invitation to their 600-person Indian celebration, where I ended up seated at the family table. A moment I’ll never forget These are experiences I could never have engineered or “networked” my way into. They only happened because I was exactly where I was supposed to be, behind the wheel, fully present, simply doing my job. That’s the magic of this work. You offer a ride… and sometimes, life offers you a glimpse into worlds far bigger than your own. So yes, I still drive people from A to B. But somewhere along the road, ZenRide also became a passport to unexpected encounters, cultural surprises, and conversations that stay with me long after the car is parked. And for that, I’m genuinely grateful. I Thought I Was Selling Transportation. I Was Wrong. Taking a moment after a busy week to reflect on what I believe is the real currency of this work: human connection. One of the things I love about driving is the incredible mix of people I meet along the way. When you drive strangers, they sometimes open up. We talk about everything from career aspirations and life pivots to unexpected “sidequests,” and I’m consistently grateful for the trust my passengers show. Most rides bring new conversations, new stories - and sometimes even unexpected invitations. This week ended with the incredible honour of being invited to participate in the festivities of a beautiful cross-cultural wedding, after being their driver to their wedding event. It was a reminder that a service like mine can become more than just a ride - it can be a moment of presence, connection, and shared humanity. I’ve had passengers invite me to visit their families abroad if I ever “happen to pass by,” and corporate clients who use the quiet drive to mentally prepare before an important meeting. It’s these conversations and this cultural diversity that make my work not only entertaining but profoundly rewarding. Thank you to everyone who has shared their stories and their ZenRide moments with me🙏 As many of you already know, when I first started driving professionally, it was supposed to be a short detour - a closed bet, a small life experiment. Just one month behind the wheel, and then back to something more “serious.” And, as most of you also know, that month turned into something I didn’t see coming - a side quest I didn’t know I needed😄 Somewhere between early-morning airport runs and late-evening city rides, I found something that just felt… right - and surprisingly relaxing. Coming home from a recent holiday in Mallorca, I realised how much I’d actually missed it. Not the traffic or the schedules, but the rhythm of it all. The feeling of starting the day with a full battery, a clean car, and no idea where the next hours will take me. Some moments sneak up on me: • The sound of rain on the windshield. • The sun setting across an empty stretch of road, painting the whole sky orange for just a minute before it fades. • Or those quiet in-between hours when you’re driving through a city that’s slowly waking up - or winding down. October reminds me why I love this even more. The changing light. The earlier sunsets. The moody skies. Every ride feels different because the world around me keeps shifting. I get to experience the seasons not as something that happens around me, but as something I’m in all day long. Driving has become more than just getting from A to B. It’s a moving reflection point - a space to meet people, to listen, and sometimes to just enjoy the silence. So yes, I still really enjoy driving. Because somewhere between the rain, the roads, and the random conversations, I keep finding small moments that make life feel quietly extraordinary. So, what are you waiting for? Come join me for a trip or two😄😉 One of the most surprising parts of my ZenRide adventure has been what happens inside the car when Copenhagen hosts a conference. I get to meet all kinds of people - seasoned CEOs, ambitious startup founders, and everything in between. And without fail, our conversations drift toward something close to my heart: the balance between work and life, and the different joys and challenges of running a business. What’s even more surprising? I’ve actually connected with more new people on LinkedIn (and sometimes Facebook) through my passengers than I did in my last years running companies in the gaming industry. And sometimes, those connections even lead to introductions to others in their networks - all sparked by a simple ride from A to B. It makes me realise: opportunities to learn, share, and connect don’t always happen at boardroom tables or industry events. Sometimes, they happen in the backseat of a car, between the airport and the hotel. And honestly? That’s one of the most rewarding parts of this new chapter. When I’m not driving my own clients or helping out other limousine companies, I open the Uber Driver app - and in that moment, the day becomes a mystery. I never know where the first ride will take me. Sometimes, it’s just around the corner - a neighbourhood I’ve never visited, a street I might never have found otherwise. Other times, each new request carries me further and further away from Copenhagen, until I end up in towns I didn’t even know existed. And then there are days when it feels like life is having a little fun with me: I drive far out, only to get a request that brings me right back to where I started. The fascinating thing is this: my entire day, the people I meet, the conversations I share - all of it is shaped by one small decision… the exact moment I choose to press “go”. There’s a kind of randomness in it, almost like fate. And I find that beautiful. Because it means every day holds adventures I could never plan - they simply unfold, one ride at a time. After 30+ years in the computer and gaming industry, I’ve been fortunate to build a big network of colleagues, friends, and partners. Many of you know that my focus (and passion!) today is ZenRide - offering private, comfortable rides in and around Copenhagen. Sometimes, when I talk to people from my old network (or even family and friends), they’ll say things like: 👉“We didn’t want to bother you.” 👉“It feels strange booking you, knowing your background.” Which always makes me smile, because the truth is: you’re not bothering me at all. In fact, it’s the opposite! Driving is something I truly enjoy - it’s my new passion - and nothing makes me happier than being trusted with your ride. ZenRide is doing well, and I love what I do. But honestly? I miss driving more of my friends, family, and former colleagues. Those trips aren’t “just work” - they’re some of the most rewarding ones. So, if you need a ride to the airport, an event, or just across town, I’d love to be the one driving you. You’re not pulling me away from anything else - you’re making my day better And yes, I promise fair prices only beaten by public transportation, your bike, or your own two feet See you in the passenger seat? /Søren PS. Since ZenRide is a one-man, one-car service, I can’t always guarantee availability at short notice. But the earlier you book, the better chance I’ll be the one opening the car door for you |
